Lossnay Fresh Air Heat Recovery Ventilation for School & Childcare Facilities
Description

Good air quality is critical to improved health and learning in education facilities. Mitsubishi Electric Lossnay Heat Recovery Ventilators quietly exchange stale classroom air with filtered fresh outside air significantly improving indoor air quality.

Additionally, Lossnay Ventilators simultaneously recover energy from the outgoing air and use this to pre-heat or pre-cool the incoming fresh air, resulting in increased comfort levels, with minimal or no additional cooling or heating required.

The Lossnay Ventilation range operates extremely quietly, ensuring minimal disturbance to learning environments.

Lossnay Wi-Fi Control Available on Compatible Models

The LGH-RVX-E-1, LGH-RVX3, LGH-RVS and Vertical Lossnay Series can be integrated with a Lossnay Wi‑Fi Control adapter for ease of control access via the Mitsubishi Electric Wi-Fi Control App, which makes operation available remotely too.

Advanced Lossnay Wi-Fi Control shows by how many degrees Lossnay is pre-warming or pre-cooling the incoming fresh air in real‑time. The App will also proactively remind users when it is time to clean filters to maximise both cost efficient operation and health benefits.

For the LGH-RVS and LGH-RVX3 Series, when paired with an additional CO2 sensor, CO2 levels can be viewed in real-time making it ideal for schools and education facilities. It is well known that poor air quality impacts health, wellbeing and concentration levels. In conjunction with the CO2 sensor, the Lossnay LGH-RVS system intuitively adjusts airflow to ensure optimum air quality, no matter how many people are in the room.

  • Lossnay Wi-Fi Control comes standard with the Vertical Lossnay Range
  • The RVS, RVX3-E and RVX-E-1 Series require an optional Lossnay Wi‑Fi Control adapter to access these advanced features
  • CO₂ Monitoring is only available as an optional extra on the RVS and RVX3 ranges and requires an additional CO2/sub> sensor
Key Features

  • Likely reduction in room heating or cooling load requirements
  • Integrated bypass damper on many models for free cooling in summer
  • Very quiet — ideal for learning environments
  • Complies with NZBC Ventilation Clause G4 and MOE requirements
  • Average heat recovery at ~70%+ and exceeds requirements of NZBC H1/VM3
  • Many sizes / airflows available to best match the space and use
  • Optional automatic air quality control — via proprietary CO2 sensor (selected models)
  • Vertical or horizontal mounting options to easily fit the classroom layout
  • Several grades of fresh air filtration available
  • Stand alone or easy integration with Mitsubishi Electric Heat Pump Systems
  • Easy & cost effective centralised control via Mitsubishi Electric's Wi-Fi app or wired central controller
  • Full documentation available including specifications, CAD drawings and payback calculations
Scope of Use

Balanced ventilation (extract and supply) suitable for all learning and education facilities.

Models available for almost all classroom sizes and any combination of normal learning spaces or wet areas such as bathrooms, showers or toilet facilities.

Typically horizontally mounted in ceiling voids but models are available for vertical mounting (e.g. in cupboards, storage rooms) or through external walls.

Limitations on Use
  • Lossnay must have both extract and supply air to work correctly — this is likely to require suitable facade penetrations
  • Some models require a condensate drain to be connected
  • Lossnay units are designed for indoor mounting — they must be protected from the weather
Statement of Building Code Compliance
  • Meets H1/VM3 ventilation system control requirements and exceeds the condition of minimum sensible heat transfer effectiveness of 60%
  • Units are designed to meet and comply with JIS B 8628 for thermal efficiency performance standard
  • All Lossnay units hold an ESS supplier declaration of compliance, in accordance with Regulation 101A of the Electricity Regulations 1997
  • Models are designed to meet and comply with G4 regulation and AS NZS 4303:1990*
*Please note the appropriate model needs to be sized and selected by the Architect, Engineering Consultant or Designer of specific projects to further ensure it complies with relevant standards.

which calculates Lossnay performance and expected running cost savings.

Warranty & Maintenance:

  • A full 5 year parts and labour warranty is provided on Lossnay units in NZ
  • With regular maintenance a Lossnay unit should achieve a service life in excess of 10 years in a school environment (excludes consumable items such as filters)

Maintenance:

  • It is recommended filters and heat transfer cores are cleaned once or twice a year by vacuuming them
  • Some Lossnay models will also require cleaning of the condensate drain
  • Filters and/or heat exchange cores may need replacement during the life of the unit (typical core life expectancy is 5-10 years)
