Description

Sonawood is a perforated wood ceiling or wall panel with an integrated acoustic backing and pre-finished in a selection of decorative surfaces. Sonawood™ perforations are suitable for use in many internal ventilation applications.

Scope of Use

Sonawood™ is ideal for gymnasiums, sports centres, schools, spas and office buildings

Limitations on Use

Not for exterior use
Installation shall not commence until the building is watertight and dry
Backloading max. 1.5 kg/m², point loads shall be independently supported

Sonawood wall panels should be installed with a full perimeter support and plywood ceiling panels must have the face grain running at right to framing members. If panels are to be face fixed, timber framing members are recommended to enable more discrete fixings to be used. To minimise the risk of buckling, it is recommended that the panels be allowed to acclimatise in the area in which they are being installed. Allowance should be made between panels to accommodate swelling and building movement.
