The Fireplace Introduces New Side by Side TV and Fireplace Cabinet

The Fireplace was recently approached by a more senior client that had his previous TV installed above his Jetmaster fireplace, but suffered from unpleasant consequences. These were namely a stiff and sore neck after long periods of viewing his favourite armchair sport — Formula One racing.

Consulting with an informative orthopaedic surgeon as to ideal viewing heights for TV sets, The Fireplace's in-house designer soon established that the trend for placement of TVs above fireplaces can, in fact, be quite detrimental and cause irritable neck strain. This is particularly true where people are seated in a room where the viewing chair or couch causes small but noticeable inclinations of one's face and eyes to the elevated screen surface high above the fire.

The solution was simple. Place the TV set at or below eye level when seated.

The Fireplace is noted for innovative solutions to such challenges, and in collusion with a friendly architect, designed a special twin cabinet feature to accommodate not only the client's TV, but also his clean air approved Stovax wood fire. Originally designed as a one-off customised solution, The Fireplace has incorporated the Side by Side cabinet as an extension for the clean air approved Stovax Studio 2 wood fires. The Fireplace has launched this cabinet as the Side by Side TV and Fire cabinet.

The Fireplace's Side by Side TV and Fire cabinet is a fabulous combination of design elements which also provide a solution for reducing potential viewing discomfort.

The Fireplace has applied for a copyright for this design to keep its unique benefits as something special the company can offer to customers who value practicalities, as well as fashion.

The fire has been tested and approved to AS/NZS 4013:1999, AS/NZS 4012:1999, AS/NZS 2918:2001 and Environment Canterbury. Authorisation Number:133649.
