In apartments and and high density living, balconies and courtyards often sit close to neighbouring dwellings. Portiqo gives designers a way to screen these spaces within a small footprint, whilst enhancing the visual appeal of the building.
Multi-unit developments often repeat the same building forms, and vertical battens add depth, shadow and rhythm to the façade. Portiqo can define individual dwellings, highlight entrances, frame windows or break up larger elevations.
Portiqo aluminium battens are 50mm wide, and available in five different depths (50mm, 75mm, 125mm, 175mm and 225 mm). By varying the batten size, spacing and orientation, designers can control how much is screened and how much remains open, helping smaller outdoor spaces feel private without becoming enclosed.
The system can be face-fixed to a wall, fixed top and bottom as a vertical screen, or used on sloped and gable-end walls. The same components work beside balconies and decks, around windows, at entrances, or as a feature across the façade.
Portiqo is modular and assembled without welding, using 6.5 m stock lengths. That keeps fabrication consistent where the same detail repeats across multiple units or levels.
Portiqo comes in Dulux architectural powdercoat colours and Metwood timber-look finishes, giving the appearance of timber with the low maintenance of aluminium. It's fabricated in New Zealand, supplied through UNEX Authorised Fabricators and carries a 10-year warranty.
Portiqo is architectural façade screening and isn't a fall-prevention barrier. Where a screen also has to work as a fall-prevention barrier, UNEX Privacy Screens can be engineered for the specific site and supported with a site-specific PS1.
