Bathroom extraction is an essential part of wet-area design. The Vent-Axia dMEV C by Manrose provides continuous, humidity automated extraction to help reduce reliance on occupant behaviour and improve the consistency of internal moisture control.
This is especially important in newer, more airtight homes. With fewer uncontrolled air gaps the moist air generated by showers and bathing is less able to escape naturally, causing condensation, mould-growth and moisture related damage. The solution to this is mechanical ventilation, but typically this means an intermittent fan that only runs when the occupants choose (or remember), not when it needs to. This solution offers no guarantee that the moisture will be removed mechanically.
The dMEV C addresses this by providing continuous bathroom extraction with humidity automated boost. The fan operates at a low trickle rate 24/7, with a similar effect to the old uncontrolled air gaps, and then automatically increases its speed as humidity rises. This humidity sensing uses rapid rise detection technology, which mitigates the risk of nuisance tripping while still allowing the fan to respond to bathing events without relying on manual operation. Perfect for homes with tenants or teenagers.
The system is designed to provide this continuous operation with low energy and acoustic impact. Its EC motor uses a maximum of 6W, with independently tested sound levels starting at 8.5dB(A). With a 35L/s max boost speed, the dMEV C is also designed to meet the bathroom extraction requirements of G4/AS1.
For designers, this automated extraction supports a more reliable method of internal moisture management. To get best results, appropriate relief/make-up air pathways into the bathroom and wider home should also be considered.
By making moisture removal continuous and automatic, the dMEV C helps designers mitigate one of the least predictable variables of wet area performance: the person using the room.
