The noise control division of Pyrotek was established in Australia in 1972 to develop and manufacture a complete range of noise-control materials.

To complement Pyrotek’s product range and ability, the noise control division has acquired several other acoustic manufacturers. In 2009 New Zealand privately owned company Latimer Acoustics and the Acoustop product range was acquired. This broadened the product range and strengthened Pyrotek’s product and technical ability.
