Achieve Uninterrupted Views with Subtle Glass Balustrade Fixing Systems

The OpusView SP13 and SP14 mini post balustrade fixing systems are a smart choice for projects where clients are looking to maximise views from frameless glass balustrades and fences.

Applications

The OpusView SP13 and SP14 mini post systems are a spigot type balustrade system  suitable for fixing glass balustrades, windbreaks, stairways and pool fencing to timber, steel or concrete decks on projects where minimal fixing is preferred. The systems are compatible with glass thicknesses ranging from 12mm to 17.5mm, and are compliant for wind zones up to Extra High.

The balustrades are suitable for occupancy types A, B, C3 and E, with options for C1 and C2 by specific design.

Key performance benefits

Hidden fixing with thicker glass, and in higher wind zones

The smart design of OpusView SP13 and SP14 balustrades means they are suitable for a wider range of applications than some other hidden fixing systems. They have been engineered and tested for clamping up to 17.52mm Toughened Glass panels without visible fixings, and can be used on wind zones up to Extra High.

Fully tilt adjustable for simpler, straighter install

Both the SP13 and SP14 feature a SmartLock tilting mechanism that allows the glazer to tilt the panels 30mm back or forward. This helps installers quickly and easily achieve plumb installation even on imperfect substrates.

Sleek minimalist look without compromising on performance

The SP13 and SP14 are the most subtle balustrade fixing options from Opus, and are available in a range of finishes, including custom powder coating to match your project.  Importantly, these subtle fixing systems do not compromise on performance; both systems meet NZBC requirements for B1 Structure, F4 Safety from Falling and F9 Restricting Access to Residential Pools.

Design support

The Opus team is readily available to provide architects with any design support needed for the specification and installation of their balustrade systems. They can offer guidance on which mini post system to use on a specific project, and can assist with getting projects through council by providing engineering recommendations, documentation and technical support.

History of use

The SP13 and SP14 mini post balustrade systems were launched two years ago, and have since undergone further improvements which have ensured they are sleeker, easier to install and stronger than before. The systems have been used on a number of residential projects across New Zealand where they’ve helped designers achieve uninterrupted views from balconies, decks and pools.

Warranty and maintenance

OpusView mini post balustrade systems are backed by a 10 Year warranty. Designed to be a low maintenance solution, Opus provides a maintenance guide to help building owners keep these systems in top condition.
