I-Built Engineered Midfloors Deliver Speed and Quality

Builders who have used an I-Built midfloor know that it adds speed and buildability to any housing project. The components are lighter, longer and stronger than solid timber, which mean floors go down faster and more easily.

Engineered timber products are unique in that they can be supplied up to 12m long if necessary. They are dimensionally stable — no twisting or bowing means installers don’t lose time on the straightening or planning which solid-wood joists often require. This means mid-span nogging is no longer required. The unique structural properties of a timber I-Beam also mean large service holes can be made with no need for brackets.

I-Built engineered midfloors use a range of quality products: I-Beams from Louisiana Pacific (LP), structural LVL from Nelson Pine and high-strength 17C Glulam from Hyne Timber. An I-Built-supplied midfloor also comes with all the hangers and hardware needed — from top plate to bottom plate in one delivery. Even I-Built’s own structural flooring plywood can be included. All I-Built midfloor designs are also supplied with a layout plan and joist certification documentation using the Hyne Design (HD7) engineering software.
