Maximise Energy Efficiencies with Scyon

Scyon is a range of innovative and sustainable building products specifically designed, engineered and manufactured for New Zealand building conditions. Made from advanced lightweight cement composite to provide heavy duty performance, the Scyon range of products is resistant to damage from fire, moisture and rot.*

The Scyon cladding range includes:

  • Scyon Linea Weatherboard
  • Scyon Stria Cladding
  • Scyon Axon Panel
  • Scyon Axent Fascia and Trim

External walls constructed in accordance with Scyon’s range of product specifications meets the performance requirements of Clause H1 – Energy Efficiencies of the New Zealand Building Code.

To meet the minimum thermal insulation requirements for construction of external walls, the bulk insulation as specified in Table 1 must be used. This insulation may be substituted with insulations having higher R-values. The thermal insulation of a wall gets compromised when the depth of timber framing is decreased.

The calculation used in Table 1 is based on a timber framing size 90 x 45mm and using an internal lining material such as James Hardie’s Villaboard Lining.
