Aerovent Upgrade Included in APL Passive Ventilation Offering

A Santoprene wind flap has been incorporated into the exterior air-inlet chamber that closes silently in high winds, thus ensuring product compliance up to Extra High Wind Zones.

Aerovent is offered by Altherm, First and Vantage manufacturers nationwide and can be installed at the head, sill or transom level of Residential Series, Metro Series or APL Architectural Series fixed windows. It can be opened and closed manually and features an internal insect mesh barrier.

Other passive ventilation options include Ventient and Sashvent. Ventient is a naturally automated trickle ventilator which opens and closes in response to outside air temperatures. It is compatible with Metro Series and APL Architectural Series windows.

At a more straightforward level, Sashvent is a highly effective supplier of background ventilation for Residential Series and Metro Series awning windows. It sits at sill level and does not intrude into sightlines. A simple, slotted slide is used for opening and closing.

Passive ventilation is a good option for improving air quality and reducing mould, mildew and condensation. Consult a local manufacturer for advice on the best option for specific projects.
