Last weeks NBR article on building concents combined the findings from the recent CTMA World & eboss surveys, which highlighted the frustrations with the current building consent process.

It was pleasing to see some more positive news in the NZ Herald, suggesting an improving property market, based on the findings of the March BNZ confidence survey.

On Friday, we previewed the eboss research summarising the current confidence levels in the building industry. 

We are amazed that there is not more talk about the state of the Non Residential building sector.

February's issue of ebossNOW took just 42 minutes to reach 1,000 visits, and our Building Industry Confidence Survey has had over 520 completed surveys.

January’s Building Consents were released on Friday – 812 residential consents (including 67 apartments) were the lowest on record, and for the first time in a decade were fewer than non-residential.

The results from our October Confidence survey were released last week.

To reiterate a key message from our Architect Confidence Survey (November 2008) – over 60% of Architects and Designers have less than six months work on their books.

January's ebossNOW was another record breaker – in fact, total visits to eboss were up nearly 30% from January 2008.
