Aluminium Butt Join Profiles
Description

Stickman aluminium butt join profiles create defined 180 degree joints between adjoining MDF & other wood composite panels across wall panelling, cabinetry and interior joinery.

The range includes flat rounded and linear profiles, with raised, flush and recessed settings in the linear range for different architectural details.

Finish options include silver anodised aluminium and mill finish suitable for powder coating.

Key Features
  • Create repeatable horizontal & vertical join lines across large panelled surfaces, allowing panel junctions to become a deliberate part of the architectural design.
  • Slimline aluminium profiles provide accurate alignment between adjoining panels and protect panel edges from wear and impact.
  • Flat rounded butt join profiles provide a subtle, low-profile join, while linear profiles create more defined architectural details.
  • Linear profiles offer raised, flush or negative inset (recessed shadow line) settings to control how the joint appears between panels.
  • Wall Fix (WF) profiles integrate direct wall fixing into the panel join while maintaining the same Linear detailing.
  • Legless profile options (MCBUT) allow for tight internal fits, including column cladding and other restricted junctions.
  • Mill finish aluminium can be powder coated to match surrounding panels or create contrasting design lines. Silver anodised finishes are also available on selected profiles.
  • Profiles are available for 16 mm and 18 mm panels, depending on the selected product.

Butt Join profile options:

  • MCBUT: Flat rounded, legless butt join profile for 16 - 18 mm panels, suitable for column cladding and applications requiring a tight internal fit. Can be coordinated with Stickman round-head corner and edge profiles.
  • MCLNJOIN: Linear head profile for joining 18 mm flat panels, with raised, flush or negative inset detailing. Part of the Stickman Linear System.
  • MCLNWFJOIN: Linear Wall Fix butt join for 18 mm panels, integrating direct wall fixing with raised, flush or negative inset detailing. Part of the Stickman Linear System.
  • H18: Flat rounded profile for joining 18 mm panels at 180 degrees without the need for pre-cutting panel edges.

Scope of Use

Suitable for MDF and other wood composite panels in dry interior applications, including:

  • Architectural wall panelling and feature walls, creating defined horizontal and vertical joints across large panelled surfaces.
  • Feature panel designs where joins are used to establish a consistent grid, pattern or expressed architectural detail.
  • Commercial interiors, reception areas, retail fit-outs, hospitality spaces and residential interiors requiring consistent panel detailing.
  • Cabinetry, furniture and architectural joinery where adjoining flat panels require a defined, finished junction.
  • Direct wall fixing of panels using MCLNWFJOIN, where the fixing is integrated into the visible join detail.
  • Column cladding and tight internal junctions using legless butt join profiles.
  • Projects requiring coordinated panel detailing, where Linear butt joins can be matched with compatible Stickman corner and capping profiles.
Limitations on Use
  • Intended for dry interior applications. Suitability for exterior, wet-area or other demanding environments must be confirmed with Stickman.
  • Profile selection must account for panel material, thickness, required joint appearance and installation method.
  • Raised, flush and negative inset configurations are available on Linear profiles only. Refer to the individual drawings for compatible settings.
  • Panel machining and preparation requirements vary between profiles. H18 allows joining without pre-cutting, while other profiles require appropriate panel preparation.
  • Wall-fix applications require suitable fixing methods and substrates for the intended installation.
  • Finish availability varies by profile. Confirm anodised or powder-coating requirements before specifying.
  • Profiles must be installed in accordance with the relevant technical drawings and installation instructions.
