Tricore
Description

With a choice of long run profiles and no end laps or sealants needed, Tricore offers an effective insulated and ventilated roofing system. Nuralite and Dimond have created Tricore for the metal roofing industry in the aims of delivering a high performing system that meet the market’s needs and brings forward the next generation of advanced insulated roofs.

Made up of multiple components Tricore has been engineered to be the next generation of roofing. Researched and perfected the system has four innovative characteristics that enhance performance: Pre- finished Lining Sheet, Insulation Board, Slotted Roof Rail and Roof Sheet and Underlay.

Key Features
  • Weather secure continuous top roofing sheets with no end laps or joins which rely on sealant
  • Range of Dimond roof profiles either factory run up to 30m or run on site up to 90m long
  • Either clip fixed or screw fixed roof profiles can be used
  • Slotted roof rail to allow condensation to dry out and reduce relative humidity under roof
  • Slotted roof rail to allow shorter roof fixings and to avoid roof fasteners penetrating the insulation
  • Quality Enertherm PIR Foam insulation in a choice of thicknesses for various R values offers a consistent R value with no shrinkage or moisture absorption
  • Insulated internal gutters can also be part of the system
  • Multi-layer skylights can be fitted to achieve natural lighting as well as overall R value to the roof system
Scope of Use
  • Any roof pitch above 3 degrees in roof runs up to 90m
  • Ultimate Wind loads up to 5 kPa are handled by screws or clip fixings
  • R values up to 6.35 m2 C/W
  • Acoustic performance of the PIR insulation carries a STC 33 rating (a better STC can be obtained by using an additional high density layer under the roof on top of the insulation)
  • The liner sheet can take foot traffic loads of 1kN on internal purlin spans up to 3.4m and act as both a working platform and means of rapid enclosure of the building space below
Limitations on Use
  • Roof pitches below 3 degrees would need a membrane top layer which replaces the top roof sheet and slotted roof rail
  • Corrosive environments can limit the durability of steel components
Statement of Building Code Compliance

Dimond confirm the Tricore roof system will meet the requirements of the NZBC for 15 years, provided it is installed and maintained in accordance to Dimond recommendations.

  • Clause B2 Durability
  • Clause E2 External moisture as an alternative solution to AS1
  • Clause F2 Hazardous building materials
  • Clause H1 Energy efficiency
In-Service History

The liner sheet and PIR insulation have been used by Dimond's supply partner Nuralite since 2012 without issues.

Dimond roof profiles have been used in compliance with NZ Building code for more than 20 years.
