Description

Solarzip® is a vertical outdoor blind or awning that shelters large spans from wind, sun and light rain while retaining the view and access to natural light. Solarzip® awnings transform covered pergolas, decks and verandahs into extended indoor living areas, by protecting the sides from wind and changeable weather conditions. Developed for modern lifestyles, the Solarzip® is a stylish addition that will enhance outdoor living areas throughout New Zealand.

A special high-temperature welded side zip allows the fabric to be encapsulated within the powder coated aluminium side tracks. Patented inserts act as movement absorbers, preventing the fabric from tearing with the tracks. Solarzip® awnings can be operated using a spring operation or gearbox and removable crank handle. A motorised and controlled by remote control application is also available.

Solarzip® can be manufactured in a wide range of fabrics, including clear PVC, but Solar View is the recommended fabric for this awning especially for its light filtering qualities. All awning components are made of stainless steel, zinc or colour matched aluminium, powder coated to requirements, to form a highly resistant, lightweight and rust proof construction.

Attachment to structures:

A PVC Tape or similar material spacer must be used to separate powder coated aluminium items from all concrete and steel structures. Failure to do so can lead to the chemicals in the structure affecting the powder coating, leading to corrosion.

Swimming Pools:

The chlorinated water in swimming pools can cause the deterioration of powder coated surfaces, leading to corrosion of the underlying surface. It is recommended that Powder coated surfaces be 1200mm minimum from a pool.

The Dulux powder coating warranty period is conditional upon the surface being maintained in accordance with the Dulux ‘Care and Maintenance Instructions’.
