Suitable for residential use, taking into account the following:

• For kitchen bins, if using a liner, take care to ensure the liner does not become entangled in the unit’s drawer runners.
• Regularly remove crumbs, sticky residue or other matter from near and on runners using a soft brush or damp cloth.
• Be familiar with the load capacity of the Tanova unit and do not exceed it.
• When opening and closing the Tanova unit or when adding items to the bucket, do not apply strong downward force (such as pushing waste down with force to pack more into the bucket) as this may damage the runners.
• Take care not to damage painted surface of the metal frames with hard or metallic objects. If the paint becomes chipped, it is recommended that the chip is repaired with a touch-up paint as recommended by a reputable paint supplier.
• Do not use caustic cleaners on any part of the Tanova unit.
• Some dishwasher powders are particularly caustic, as are dry salt, salt water and any citrus juice. If they spill onto the Tanova unit frame, remove the powder promptly with a soft brush or damp cloth taking care to re-wipe the surface clean after rinsing cloth free of substance.
• Painted steel parts — clean with a soft brush or cloth, using warm water and a mild soap such as dishwashing liquid, which will help break down any stains. Avoid harsh chemicals.
• Powder coated aluminium parts — clean with a soft brush or cloth, using warm water and a mild soap such as dishwashing liquid, which will help break down any stains. Avoid harsh chemicals. Wiping with a microfibre cloth is also a good dusting/cleaning method.
• Plastic buckets — to avoid odours, regularly wash out with warm water and dishwashing liquid, rinse well and dry. If possible, leaving to dry in the sun is a great idea.
• Plastic buckets are dishwasher safe.

FIT released their first Tanova Kitchen waste bin range in 2011, from which the current Simplex range has developed following a significant design review in 2014. ‘Frame and bucket’ options to sit on common soft close drawer brands followed in 2015, along with Simplex Plus. Options designed for compatibility with Legrabox drawers became available in 2019.

Warranty

FIT warrants the original purchaser of products against manufacturing defects for as long as the original purchaser owns the product. This warranty applies to all non-electrical products sold by FIT in New Zealand and Australia.

The warranty covers replacements for faulty goods only. Replacements will be supplied to the original purchaser only. If the identical item is no longer available, FIT will replace with the closest item from their current product selection. The warranty does not include any labour or other associated expense that may be involved in removal or installation of the product. The warranty does not apply if products have been incorrectly installed, have been subjected to loads in excess of specifications and/or have been subjected to uses/purposes for which they are not expressly intended. FIT’s liability is limited to the goods themselves and does not cover any consequential or incidental damages contributed to or resulting from the use, installation, performance or failure of products.

In New Zealand this warranty is additional to the conditions and guarantees of the Consumers Guarantee Act (1993).
