Description

Triton Sports 40™ is a ball impact resistant high sound absorbing and thermal insulating acoustic ceiling system. Panels feature a smooth, high density glass fabric facing, reinforced aluminium foil backing and are held within a heavy duty wide faced grid system with proprietary hold down clips. The system is designed to provide high sound absorption in areas subject to impact, knocks and bumps.

Manufactured in New Zealand from 96 kg/m³ bio-soluble glass fibre board laminated with woven glass fibre fabric facing and aluminium foil backing.

Scope of Use

Ideal for use in classrooms, gymnasiums, halls, corridors, etc to control reverberation and background noise levels.
The system is designed to provide high sound absorption in areas subject to impact, knocks and bumps.

Limitations on Use

Shall not commence until the building is water tight and dry
Light fittings shall be independently supported
Must use CLW95 hold down brackets at 300mm centres to secure panels against uplift from ball impact
It is recommended that air grilles be installed in the ceiling to balance air pressure differentials
Do not use in ceilings with negative air return plenums
Back loading — Max. uniformly distributed load 1 kg/m², point loads shall be independently supported.
Max 95% R/H at 45°C

NZ Building Code Compliance:

• B2 Durability – Clause B2.3.1 (c) (i): Asona ceiling tiles with only normal maintenance will have a minimum durability of at least 5 years when installed in accordance with; manufacturer’s installation requirements and AS/NZS 2785:2020.

• C3 Fire – Clause C/AS2 4.12.1: Asona Triton Sports 40 has a Fire Material Group Number 1-S by NZBC Building Product Specification Parts 8.5.4 or 8.5.5, tested in accordance with ISO 9705 or ISO 5660.
