Deck Design Flexibility for Safe Outdoor Childcare Spaces

Designed by Arcadia Landscape Architecture, the outdoor area of the childcare centre presented Outdure with a number of challenges to resolve. The Outdure design team provided detailed construction drawings to the installers 5enses Carpentry and Design to achieve this stunning result.

It was the first time the installers had worked with the QwickBuild aluminum joist-bearer system and they said the perfectly straight and level system made the complex job relatively straightforward.

The turf is supported by the QwickBuild aluminum baseboards, which then fit onto the framework. Outdure CasaDeck recycled composite boards were specified for the high non-slip rating.

QwickBuild can be used as a 'floating structure' over multiple substrates and can be supported by pedestals (which Outdure can also supply) or for over ground posts/piers or ground screws.

QwickBuild is an external flooring system that provides strong, durable, stable structures to support hardwood and composite decking boards, exterior tiles, and synthetic turf, or a combination of surfaces.

QwickBuild is designed for installations over natural ground, concrete pads, existing pavers and waterproof membranes. The system allows for the construction of support structures ranging from ultra-low height through to structures 3m+.

Benefits for deck structures under 400mm in height, especially areas where deck structures are built over a waterproof membrane, this includes rooftop spaces and apartment balconies. The system has low height capabilities enabling a flush internal and external floor levels that are of complex integrating surfaces.
