Description

Plankwall Grooved Panels are MDF wall linings manufactured in New Zealand from sustainably grown Nelson Pine. Panels feature V groove profiles, modern 100mm or 150mm V- or classic 80mm W-groove, and are designed for interior wall applications in residential and commercial environments.

Available in raw MDF or ‘Almost Finished’, a pre-primed option with a hard-wearing, scratch resistant UV-cured coating system designed to reduce on-site preparation and support a consistent painted finish.

Available in a range of panel sizes:

9mm or 12mm thick (16m & 18mm available for cabinetry)
1200mm x 2400mm, 2745m, 3660mm & 3860mm

Scope of Use

Suitable for use as interior wall and ceiling linings in dry, protected environments
Designed for residential and commercial applications
Can be installed vertically or horizontally for wall lining applications
May be used as bracing when designed and installed in accordance with NZS 3604:2011 and tested bracing systems

Limitations on Use

Not suitable for exterior applications or areas subject to sustained moisture or high humidity
Not recommended for wet areas such as bathrooms, commercial kitchens or pool enclosures
Building must be enclosed and weather-tight prior to installation
Substrate moisture content must not exceed 18% at time of installation

Statement of Building Code Compliance

Plankwall Grooved Panels are manufactured in accordance with AS/NZS 1859.2.

When designed, used and installed in accordance with the Plankwall Grooved Panels Design and Installation Guide, the panels will comply with, or contribute to compliance with, the following provisions of the NZ Building Code:

Clause B1 Structure: B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3 (a), and B1.3.3 (j) where used for lining; and B1.3.3 (f), (h), (j) where used for bracing
Clause B2 Durability: B2.3.1 (a) (bracing) and B2.3.1 (b) (lining)
Clause F2 Hazardous Building Materials: F2.3.1

In-Service History

Plankwall Grooved Panels have been used throughout New Zealand since 2000 in residential, retail and commercial applications.

Warranty

Plankwall Grooved Panels, when manufactured using GoldenEdge MDF and installed in accordance with the Plankwall Design and Installation Guide, are covered by a 12-month warranty against faulty materials or workmanship, limited to replacement of the product in accordance with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
