Plankwall Grooved Wall Panel
Description

Plankwall Grooved Wall Panels are MDF panels with tongue and groove edges suitable for use on interior walls and ceilings. Made from sustainably grown, Nelson pine with an E0 rating. Panels are available with either a V or W groove on one side, to provide an attractive linear look. The reverse face can be used if a smooth profile is desired.

The tongue and groove join provides effective bracing, as well as reducing the need for sub-trades such as stoppers. Panels are fixed using pins and GLU.

Installation

As a general fixing recommendation use:

  • 40mm galvanised clouts at 150mm centres, top and bottom where skirtings and architraves are to be fitted, plus, around doors and windows
  • Galvanised brads at 200mm centres on joins and on the centre line 800mm and 1600mm up
  • Screw bracing in wardrobes or at rear of lounge where lighting is less effective and where furniture may be placed to reduce visibility of fixings should this occur
  • Glue all studs and dwangs with a quality panel adhesive

Use a quality paintable gap filler on joins and internal corners. Also in the grooves where they meet the skirting and architrave before painting. This will ensure with any slight panel movement the paint remains unbroken.

Priming can be applied to 'raw' panels before skirtings and architraves are fitted. Using a coarse paint roller will also seal the grooves without need for brush. This gives a slight undulated finish.
