• Compatible with outdoor heating elements and integrated garden drain channels.  
• Applicable across all New Zealand climate zones, exposure zones, and wind classifications.  

• Concrete slabs must be designed and installed in accordance with NZS 3109 and NZS 3114, including correct fall setup for surface water drainage.
• Smooth steel-trowelled or polished finishes are not suitable for un-roofed exterior patios due to slip hazards under wet conditions.
• Final colour appearance may vary due to local cement supplier, regional aggregate colour, water-cement ratios, and curing conditions; site sample mock-ups are recommended prior to main placement.
• Protective sealers must be applied to thoroughly dry, fully cured concrete within recommended ambient temperature limits as outlined in PeterFell technical documentation.

PeterFell Patio and Courtyard Concrete, if designed, used, installed, and maintained in accordance with the conditions of PeterFell’s technical documents, will comply with, or contribute to compliance with, the following performance provisions of the NZ Building Code:  

• Clause B1 STRUCTURE: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, and B1.3.4 (contributes to structural performance when engineered in accordance with NZS 3604 or specific design)  
• Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1(a) 50 years (for structural slab), B2.3.1(b) 15 years, and B2.3.1(c) 5 years (for sealers and surface treatments)  
• Clause D1 ACCESS ROUTES: Performance D1.3.3(d) (slip resistance for exterior walkways and access routes)  
• Clause E2 EXTERNAL MOISTURE: Performance E2.3.2 (when specified with correct falls, drainage, and sealers)  
• Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1   

Contribution to Compliance:

• B1 Structure: Contributes to structural requirements when concrete mix design, thickness, and subgrade preparation comply with NZS 3604, NZS 3109, and project engineering specifications.  
• B2 Durability: Inorganic Bayferrox iron oxide pigments are lightfast and UV-stable for the life of the structure. Protective surface sealers ensure long-term durability when reapplied per PeterFell maintenance schedules.  
• D1 Access Routes: Exterior textured finishes (such as Medium Trowel, Sandstone/acid-etched, or Bush Hammered) achieve compliant wet slip resistance under AS 4586 / NZBC D1/AS1 for pedestrian paths and access routes.  
• E2 External Moisture: Integrated concrete slabs installed with appropriate falls away from building envelopes and sealed with PFL sealers prevent water pooling and sub-slab moisture ingress.  
• F2 Hazardous Building Materials: Cured coloured concrete and non-toxic surface sealers release no hazardous substances and are safe for human contact.
