• Applicable across all New Zealand climate zones and building design wind/earthquake classifications.

• Must be laid and finished by competent concrete contractors in accordance with NZS 3109 and NZS 3114.
• Final colour appearance may vary based on cement source, regional aggregates, water-cement ratios, curing conditions, and chosen surface grinding/texturing depth; site sample panels or viewing showroom samples are recommended prior to placement.
• PFL Epoxy Sealer is restricted to interior residential floor applications only and is not suitable for external or heavy vehicular traffic areas (e.g. residential garages).
• Concrete must be fully cured (minimum 28 days) before applying protective surface sealers unless specified otherwise by PeterFell product guides.

PeterFell Concrete Floors, if designed, used, installed, and maintained in accordance with the conditions of PeterFell’s technical documents, will comply with, or contribute to compliance with, the following performance provisions of the NZ Building Code:

• Clause B1 STRUCTURE: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, and B1.3.4 (contributes to structural floor performance when integrated into engineered concrete slabs)
• Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1(b) 15 years and B2.3.1(c) 5 years (for sealers/coatings)
• Clause C3 FIRE AFFECTING AREAS BEYOND THE FIRE SOURCE: Performance C3.4(b) (critical radiant flux testing to ISO 9239-1)
• Clause D1 ACCESS ROUTES: Performance D1.3.3(d) (slip resistance depending on selected texture and finish)
• Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1
• Clause H1 ENERGY EFFICIENCY: Performance H1.3.1, H1.3.2E (when used to contribute to building thermal mass)

Contribution to Compliance:

• B1 Structure: Contributes to structural floor slab performance when mix designs and steel reinforcement adhere to NZS 3101, NZS 3109, and structural engineer requirements.
• B2 Durability: Inorganic iron oxides are lightfast and UV-stable for the life of the concrete structure. Surface sealers achieve required durability periods when reapplied and maintained per PeterFell maintenance guides.
• C3 Fire Performance: Concrete floors and specified sealers (such as PFL Epoxy and Glaze Sealers) have been tested to ISO 9239.1 to meet minimum critical radiant flux requirements under NZBC C/AS1–C/AS2.
• D1 Access Routes: Smooth steel-trowelled and polished interior finishes meet wet and dry slip-resistance guidelines when maintained cleanly and kept dry; non-slip or textured options can be specified for transition zones.
• F2 Hazardous Building Materials: Cured coloured concrete and water-based low-VOC sealers (such as PFL Epoxy Sealer) are non-hazardous, safe to handle, and release no harmful VOC emissions in service.
