• All canopy systems require project specific assessment and design
• Glass, fittings and supports must suit the panel dimensions and applicable loads
• The supporting structure and substrates must resist all transferred loads
• Wind pressure, snow load, live load, movement and drainage must be confirmed
• Tie rod canopies require sufficient slope for drainage
• Canopies must not be walked on unless specifically designed for access
• Building envelope interfaces and waterproofing are excluded unless included in Metro’s scope
• A specific design PS1 may be required
• Installation must follow the approved design documentation

Compliance must cover the complete system, including glass, fittings, rods, supports, fixings, substrates and building interfaces.

• Spider fittings transfer loads from the glass into the supporting structure
• Systems are designed for project specific wind, snow and live loads
• Laminated safety glass provides post breakage glass retention
• Safety glass options are manufactured in accordance with AS/NZS 2208
• Laminated glass processing is undertaken with reference to AS/NZS 4667
• Glass selection and installation are undertaken with reference to NZS 4223
• Structural performance is established through project specific design

Warranty & Maintenance

• Warranty coverage is subject to Metro’s applicable glass and hardware warranty terms
• Refer to the attached product specific warranty documents
• Maintain in accordance with the Metro glass care and maintenance guide
• Regularly inspect fittings, rods, fixings, glass edges and support points
• Keep drainage paths and building interfaces clear and maintained
• Do not walk on or access the canopy unless specifically designed for access
