MAPESTONE PFS2 VISCO is the pre-blended, low viscosity mortar for grouting paving made from stone blocks and slabs which is open to vehicles.

Joints grouted with Mapestone PFS 2 Visco are resistant to freeze/thaw cycles and to the aggressive action of de-icing salts and seawater.
Mapestone PFS 2 Visco reaches a high level of strength with excellent resistance to abrasion. Mapestone PFS 2 Visco is supplied pre-blended and just needs to be mixed with water, which makes it particularly easy to use. This prevents mistakes caused by mixing the wrong amount of binders or aggregates. Such errors could affect the initial and final performance characteristics of the grout.
Mapestone PFS 2 Visco is a pre-blended cementitious mortar for the grouting of joints of external flagstone, block paving and road nishes suitable for vehicular traffic.
Mapestone PFS 2 Visco is a complementary product of the Mapestone System, that creates architectural stone paving with high durability even in environments subject to rain, to freeze/thaw cycles in the presence of de-icing salts and seawater (environmental conditions classified by EN 206 standard as XF4 and XS3).
Mapestone PFS 2 Visco is available in two versions: NEUTRAL, ideal for architectural agstone and block paving made with light-colored stones and DARK GREY, ideal for architectural agstones and block paving made with dark stones.

Scope of Use

The Mapestone system has been developed to provide durable paving installations capable of withstanding demanding environmental conditions.

The system is designed to resist freeze–thaw cycles, temperature variations, heavy rainfall and exposure to aggressive environments such as de-icing salts, acids and marine spray.

It is suitable for exposure classes XF4 (high water saturation with de-icing agents or seawater) and XS3 (tidal, splash and spray zones).

Mapestone PFS 2 Visco is used for grouting joints in architectural paving and road finishes made from stone and concrete paving blocks.
Mapestone PFS 2 Visco has a low level of viscosity which allows it to grout gaps and joints and to flow easily onto all the contact surfaces between the screed and stone blocks or slabs. In doing so it eliminates any air pocket that forms under the blocks and slabs when they are being installed, thereby improving adhesion between the stones and the screed.

Limitations on Use

Only apply Mapestone PFS 2 Visco if the temperature of the surrounding air, the substrate and the stone is between +5°C and +30°C.
Mapestone PFS 2 Visco is a pre-mixed powder mortar; never add other binders or aggregates.
Mix Mapestone PFS 2 Visco mechanically using a suitable equipment (such as with a vertical concrete mixer, a mixing drill or in a bucket with a worm-screw mixing attachment) with the recommended amount of water (approximately 2.4 2.8 litres per 20kg bag) for at least 3 minutes. Mixing by hand is not recommended.
Apply Mapestone PFS 2 Visco the same day as installing the stone paving before the installation screed has completely set (“fresh on fresh” technique).
To guarantee the durability of the paving, use Mapestone TFB 60 pre-blended mortar to create the installation screed for the stones.
