The swing-free mode of the Lockwood Exidor 9880 Guardian E-Mag closer can allow a door to slam shut. Whether this is accidental, deliberate, or just caused by a draught, it poses a real risk to frail residents. The Lockwood Exidor 9880 Guardian E-Mag closer closer has been specifically developed with an anti-slam function that controls and slows the motion of the door.

The Lockwood Exidor 9880 Guardian E-Mag closer offers a low-level control on the door, which stops it from drifting from its open position – eradicating the need to wedge doors open, yet still allowing the door to operate freely to the user. The Lockwood Exidor 9000 Series is supplied with a stylish and elegant radius cover and has a matching adjustable arm as standard.

  • Anti-Slam Finger Protection — The swing free mode of a closer can allow a door to slam shut. Regardless as to whether this is accidental, deliberate or just caused by a draught, it poses a real risk to frail residents and care home workers alike. The Lockwood Exidor Guardian closer has been developed with an anti-slam function which controls and slows the motion of the door.
  • Drift Resistance — If a door is unbalanced it can naturally swing open or closed, or it can swing with a draught. This can result in a resident wedging the door open and invalidating it as a fire door. The Lockwood Guardian closer offers a low level control on the door, which stops it from drifting from its open position, at the same time as allowing it to operate freely to the user.

The Lockwood Exidor 9880 Guardian E-Mag closer is a swing-free door closer developed specifically to meet the needs of care home facilities.

In a class of its own, the Lockwood Exidor 9880 Guardian E-Mag closer offers specific features that reduce the risk of injury to residents as well as eradicating the need to wedge doors open.

  • Maximum closing force EN4
  • Opening angle 180°
  • Non-handed
  • Detachable loop allows the loop and closer to be fitted separately for additional onsite flexibility in installation
  • Easy fit by mounting on the push or pull side, and supplied with brackets for either application
  • Supplied with brackets for fig 1 and fig 6 fixing
  • Power size 4, power supply units are also available
  • Supplied in a trade pack

Limitations on Use

The Lockwood Exidor Guardian requires a 24V DC power supply and it is recommend to use the PSU2 and PSU4 power supply units.
