Located at 22 Marine Parade, ZX Panel has been used as the primary exterior cladding system for the 552 square metre ultra-modern home.
As the home encompasses three levels right next to the sea, the key considerations in choosing ZX Panel were that it was low maintenance and able to withstand a tough coastal environment.
The owners were also looking to characterise the unique design of the home. They are delighted with the ZX Panel grid look which is complemented by cedar timber eyebrows over the windows and substantial pergolas in the outdoor areas. The overall result is modern and clean with the materials used being long-lasting, fit for purpose and cost-effective when compared to similar alternative systems.
ZX Panel was also used in the soffits and alfresco areas with the view of keeping any maintenance to an absolute minimum.
The owners chose a fresh white shade of ZX Panel in Titania Matt from more than 37 colours available. Panels are non-combustible, solid aluminium, powder-coated and 2mm thick, connected to the structural framing using engineered aluminium extrusions. This provides a superior, cavity-based exterior cladding system that stands out amongst the many different and varying cladding systems in the street.
A major benefit of ZX Panel and one that was important to the owners is that minimal maintenance is required to keep the new home in pristine condition for many years ahead and that costly re-painting is not necessary. ZX Panel provides a 15-year warranty including the powder-coated surface.
Sustainability is a key core-value of ZX Panel and this aligned with the owners, along with the fact that the product is 100% New Zealand made. Being able to future-proof the home and environment long-term made the decision logical and easy.
Builders on this project were impressed by how lightweight and easy to install ZX Panel was, and that all leftover waste was able to be recycled.
ZX Panel is made in New Zealand by Altus. It has been fully tested and gained an S14G PASS certificate ensuring the system is fully compliant under the Building Act 2004.
This impeccable example is another demonstration of the designer, owner, builder and product supplier working together to create a project that enhances the overall look and standard of homes in the area.
