NZ-Made Solid Aluminium Cladding a Low Maintenance

The ZX Panel system is ideal for use in residential and commercial buildings up to 10 metres high. It is non-combustible and compliant with C3 of the building code with solid high-grade 2mm aluminium panels connected to the primary structure through engineered aluminium extrusions.

Manufactured by Altus, ZX Panel complies with the relevant building code as an approved alternative having been weathertightness tested to E2VM1 and NZ/AS4284. It also complies with s14G of the Building Act 2004 and holds a PASS certificate 19904.

The powder-coated painting system has been tested to perform to internationally recognised specifications including AS3715 and WANZ Endurocolour. It is compliant with B2 Durability so is ideal in coastal locations and is low-maintenance requiring no painting, just light cleaning as specified.

Being lightweight, fabrication and installation is quick, effective and 20 modern colour choices ensure the end result is aesthetically pleasing. Custom colours can also be created by request. A stand-out commercial project recently completed in Tauranga selected bright yellow panels, providing a remarkable finish (pictured above).

When installed as per the factory recommendations, the ZX Panel system is able to withstand all wind loadings and earthquake zones in all areas of New Zealand

B1 Structure: When installed as per the factory recommendations the ZX PANEL system is able to withstand all wind loadings and earthquake zones in all areas of New Zealand in accordance with AS/NZS1170 and will meet the requirements of NZBC Clauses B1.3.1 and B1.3.3.
B2 Durability: When ZX PANEL system is installed and maintained as per specifications and installation instructions it has an expected serviceable life of greater than 15 years.
E2 External Moisture: The ZX PANEL system has been tested using the NZ Building code E2 VM1 test procedure.
Non Hazardous Material: When installed as per the factory recommendations the ZX PANEL system meets the requirements of NZBC Clause F2.3.1.
Control of External Fire Spread: When 2x4 panels are incorporated in the ZX PANEL system it is considered to meet the performance requirements of NZBC Clause C3-3.5 for use as an external wall cladding when restricted to:
- Single story buildings 1 metre or more from the relevant boundary for all purpose groups
- Buildings with a building height up to 7 metres, 1 metre or more from the relevant boundary, for all purpose groups other than SC and SD
