The full compliance strengthens Karndean’s ongoing commitment to the improvement in the health, safety and environmental impacts of their luxury vinyl flooring ranges.

The Product Stewardship Programme is a vehicle for signatories of the Vinyl Council Australian polyvinyl chloride (PVC or ‘vinyl’) manufacturing industry to work together to advance the environmental safety and sustainability of the PVC value chain, which includes vinyl floor coverings.

Progress under the programme is achieved through phthalate-free PVC product, reduced emissions, improvements in waste management, end-of-life product stewardship and adoption of life-cycle thinking in the development of existing and new PVC products.
