Change is Coming, Let's Make it Easy

In a bid to become carbon-neutral by 2050, MBIE has set out to find a way to be a part of achieving this goal with the Building for Climate Change programme. By mid-May, new homes will require higher levels of insulation, which will in turn deliver warmer, drier and healthier homes that cost significantly less to heat whilst also generating carbon savings through this energy efficiency. Whilst the H1 change will create a more thermally efficient home, the roofing costs will increase, and there are still minimal solutions to accommodate these changes.

DriSpace has made it easy, with DriSpace H1 Solution systems, which are cost-efficient and accommodate increased insulation requirements (R6.6) in roof and wall. Passive ventilation in the roof space has always been imperative to ensure mildew, mould and condensation are kept at bay, with the new minimum, the thicker insulation has a greater risk of touching the underlays as a result of the reduced roof space.

With some key products such as the VENT Roll Panel/Eaves Baffle Vent, VENT Over Fascia Vent and VENT Ventilation and Drainage Battens in conjunction with DriStud vapour permeable underlays and ProctorPassive airtight membranes, an energy-efficient, airtight home with passive ventilation that meets the new H1 requirements can be achieved. DriSpace is making it easy — offering H1 Solutions for any roof pitch and design.
