April 2025 Feature: Cladding Systems
This month we want to hear about systems that meet the stringent requirements for cladding NZ buildings — in both residential (including stand alone, medium density and apartments), and commercial applications.
For this, we're focussing on cladding systems, not cladding products, so you will need to explain the build-up of the system from framing outwards to give architects a full understanding of the system performance particularly in relation to weathertightness, durability and fire.
Your article could focus on:
- A new innovative cladding system — tell us what makes it stand out
- A recent project where your cladding system was used to achieve an eye-catching facade while meeting all performance requirements
- An existing cladding system — educate architects on the build-up
Make sure to include the below key information:
- What is your compliance pathway — certification or producer statements?
- Are there any key design or build challenges the system helps overcome?
- What are the key benefits? — for cladding think durability, low maintenance, fire performance, thermal performance, easy of install, cost
- Do you offer a design service to assist architects with cladding specification?
This is an opportunity to demonstrate your company’s expertise to architects and show them how your cladding systems and support can aid in the design of NZ buildings.
Article submission deadline: Thursday 13 March
Note: This feature is limited to 20 articles. We will prioritise articles that best fit this brief, focusing on compliance, performance and helping architects to achieve design outcomes. If we exceed this limit, we may shift some articles to our popular Exteriors newsletter.
May 2025 Feature: Acoustic Performance
This month we want to hear about acoustic solutions that contribute to more comfortable spaces for living and working.
Your article could focus on:
- A new innovative product that offers high acoustic performance in residential or commercial applications
- A project that illustrates how your acoustic products have resolved key acoustic design challenges
- A product that meets or exceeds acoustic requirements for intertenancy floors and walls
- A solution designed to enhance the acoustics of shared living or working spaces
For this feature, we welcome acoustic products for residential and/or commercial design. We will prioritise those who can clearly articulate the performance that their solution achieves or those who can reference a project to demonstrate performance. This is an opportunity to demonstrate how your products can help architects ensure excellent acoustic control and comfort in their designs.
Article submission deadline: Thursday 10 April
Note: This feature is limited to 20 articles. We will prioritise articles that best fit this brief, focusing on compliance, performance and helping architects to achieve design outcomes. If we exceed this limit, we may shift some articles to our popular Interiors or Exteriors newsletters.
June 2025 Feature: Timber Innovations
This month we want to hear about innovative timber products and systems designed to enhance buildings structurally and visually.
Your article could focus on:
- A new innovative product, such as:
- Structure or facade products that reduce construction times and costs or simplifies design and installation or;
- Interesting decorative timber linings or products that help designers achieve the look and texture of natural timber indoors
- A recent project that show how your products have helped designers achieve a novel design solution
- A current product, highlighting key installation and performance benefits
- How your product contributes towards zero carbon or low carbon designs — and what environmental credentials back up this claim
We will prioritise new, innovative products and case studies that demonstrate how timber can be used in innovative ways.
Both interior and exterior timber products are applicable, including those made of ply, MDF and wood composite. We will not include timber-look products not comprised of any timber (eg. timber-look aluminium).
Article submission deadline: Thursday 15 May

July 2025 Feature: Alterations & Additions
This month we want to hear about systems that bring benefits to alteration and addition projects.
Your article could focus on:
- A new innovative retrofit solution that can help simplify or improve A&A projects
- A recent renovation project that demonstrates the benefits of your system for alteration projects
- An existing system or product — educate architects and builders on how this product can help simplify the design and build process on an A&A project
This feature is open to products for residential and commercial builds. We recommend clearly identifying key benefits for retrofit projects in terms of design process, installation process, cost and compliance.
This is an opportunity to demonstrate how your systems and support can aid in A&A design and construction.

August 2025 Feature: Designing for coastal & harsh environments
This month we want to hear about systems that can stand up to New Zealand's harshest environments — including very high wind zones, corrosion zones and coastal areas.
Your article could focus on:
- A new innovative product designed for use in harsh environments
- A recent project that demonstrates the benefits of your system in a coastal or harsh environment
- An existing system or product — educate architects on how this product can meet NZBC requirements in harsh environments
Products that could be a good fit for this feature include: cladding, pre cladding, roofing, decks, louvres, windows and doors.
