LP SolidStart I-Beams
Description

Known for offering superior value, strength and reliability, LP SolidStart I-Beams are ideal for flooring or roofing projects. Suitable of both residential and commercial use, LP SolidStart I-Beams are fast to install, lightweight and available in long lengths up to 12m. 

With the OSB web, installers have the ability to cut large holes in the web which provide for ducting, plumbing and cabling. Specifiers also have the peace of mind of a lifetime limited warranty. 

LP SolidStart I-Beams are available in 225, 240, 300 and 356mm depths.

  • Made from Douglas Fir Top & Bottom Flange and an OSB web, giving the ability to cut large holes in the web to allow for ducting, plumbing and cabling.

Scope of Use
  • In conjunction with timber or lightweight steel framing that complies with the NZ Building Code, or for existing buildings, where the designer and/or installer have established that the existing structure is suitable for the intended building work.
  • In accordance with I-Beam span tables or to the requirements of NZS 3604 as referenced in and amended by B1/AS1
  • Within the building envelope where hazard class H3.1 or less applies
  • Fixing material to be in accordance with section 4, NZS 3604:2011
Limitations on Use
  • Engineered timber I-Beams are suitable for internal use only and should not be used in weather exposed situations
  • In internal areas where there is potential for high levels of moisture, such as under bathroom areas it is recommended that H3.1 (LOSP) treated I-Beams are used
Statement of Building Code Compliance

The structural properties of LP Solid Start I-Beams are in accordance with the requirements of the NZBC, B1 Structure and may be used for the specific design of timber components utilising NZS 3603:1993 Timber Structures Standard. Connections may be designed using NZS3603:1993 J4 joint group properties.

I-Built's I-Beams meet the requirements of clause B2 Durability of the NZBC when treated to an H3.1 (LOSP) level.
