Limitations on Use
  • Formica Metallic and Magnetic laminates are suitable for vertical use only
  • Do not use externally or in areas where prolonged exposure to temperatures exceeding 135° may occur
  • Must be supported by recommended substrate over entire surface area
  • Do not bond directly to plaster, concrete walls or gypsum plasterboard
Statement of Building Code Compliance
  • Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1 (c). Will remain fit for purpose for a minimum of 5 years. 
  • Clause C3 Fire Affecting Areas Beyond the Fire Source: Performance C3.4 (a). Has a Material Group Number of 3 when tested to ISO 5660.
  • Clause E3 Internal Moisture: Performance E3.3.4 & E3.3.5. Surfaces are imperious and easily cleaned.
  • Clause F2 Hazardous Building Materials: Performance F2.3.1. No harmful materials are emitted from product.
  • Clause G3 Food Preparation and Prevention of Contamination: Performance G 3.3.2 (a). Surfaces are impervious and easily cleaned.
In-Service History

The Formica brand celebrated its 100 year anniversary in 2013 and has been available in New Zealand since 1946. It has a proven history with a large number of residential bench-tops and commercial countertops featuring Formica laminate.
