J-Frame
Description

Engineered straight, strong and durable, J-Frame is suitable for a wide range of uses; including residential and commercial framing and truss systems.

J-Frame is a general purpose Structural Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) gauged framing timber product manufactured by Juken New Zealand (JNL) from 100% renewable Radiata Pine, plantation forest.

J-Frame is the only structural framing timber in New Zealand to currently have CodeMark. This proves compliance with the building code and acceptance by all New Zealand councils.

Scope of Use
  • J-Frame is specified in building work designed in accordance with NZS3604:2011 or specifically engineered in accordance with NZS3603:1993 and where hazard class H1.2 or less applies
  • In order for the installer to establish compliance with E2.3.6, refer to moisture meter correction figures for J-Frame LVL framing (Table 5), Scion, 27/1/2009
Limitations on Use

J-Frame should be kept dry when being stored. Place on the ground with packers to prevent moisture uptake. The plastic wrapping should be removed only when the product is being used and should be re-covered to maintain its dry state.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

When designed, installed and maintained in accordance with the conditions of the CodeMark Certificate J-Frame and J-Lintel will comply with the following provisions of the NZ Building Code:

  • Clause B1 Structure: B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3 (a, b, f, g, h & q), B1.3.4 (a, b, c, d, e) 
  • Clause B2 Durability: B2.3.1 (a), B2.3.2 (a, b)
  • Clause F2 Hazardous Building Materials: F2.3.1
