PlyPlay is a prefinished, UV-coated plywood made from sustainably grown plantation pine. PlyPlay is ideal for transforming existing spaces, such as garages, sheds and baches, and for use in prefabricated housing, commercial feature walls and ceilings.
PlyPlay is coated by Bates Surface Solutions, New Zealand’s largest coating applicator for building panel products, using the most advanced computer-controlled UV line in New Zealand and Australia. Choose a finish quality and durability that can be achieved only in a controlled factory environment.
PlayPly offers speed on-site. Based on plywood sheets, PlyPlay’s factory-coated, modular panels simplify the construction process. Fewer trades needed on-site allow a compressed time frame when lining an interior.
The factory-based UV-curing technology uses paints that are free of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Coatings are instantly dried on the UV line, with no subsequent VOC emissions, resulting in cleaner air than in conventional surface-coating processes.
PlyPlay features a durable surface coating, which uses ultraviolet light to cure the paint — a photochemical process that binds the pigments. UV-cured paints are tougher than conventional coatings, offering improved resistance to impact, scratch and general wear. The PlyPlay surface will last longer than most architectural paint systems, so requires less maintenance over its lifetime.
PlyPlay comes in three different colours. Finished with a smooth satin surface, each colour has a delicate pearl sheen, based on mineral mica, to accentuate the natural warmth of the timber.
PlyPlay comes in 12mm pine and three colour options. The pine plywood for walls and ceilings is made from sustainably grown pine. These have few knots and a uniform, lightly toned appearance that finishes beautifully and consistently.
PlyPlay is an indent product with a three-week lead time and available exclusively through CARTERS.
PlyPlay is designed for wall and ceiling lining in residential and commercial applications, excluding high-humidity situations.
Typical applications:
Being a natural product, PlyPlay is subject to some variations in moisture content, colour and grain, with the occasional imperfection. To minimise batch-to-batch variation, it is recommended to order all product required in one job order. Natural wood colours change over time and are affected by sunlight exposure.
Fire Rating: Group 3:
