TechED Focus and Displays

TechED Materials forums provide an opportunity for specifier reps to engage directly with architectural professionals through hands-on material demonstrations and open discussion. The intent is to foster relationship-building, expand knowledge of technical materials, and provide practical design solutions in a collaborative setting.

Key focus

TechED is an opportunity for knowledge sharing, discussion and solutions-based engagement.

• The session is casual and conversational rather than a formal presentation
• Focus on practical applications and solutions to real design/technical challenge
• Share knowledge openly while encouraging dialogue and questions
• Aim to demonstrate technical expertise through tangible examples rather than slides or handouts

Your display

You will be provided a table or shared display space to create an educational, visually enticing, hands-on display. To encourage engagement, we recommend:

• Physical Samples: Bring real material samples that can be viewed and handled – e.g., large-scale mock-ups, models, buildups, or unique surfaces
• Interactive Elements: Where possible, display materials in use-context (e.g., details, junctions, testing pieces)
• Branded Collateral: Pull-up banner
• Giveaways (small branded items, stationery, reusable items)
• Lollies or treats (to encourage casual interaction)

You must also bring a tablecloth (own branding or neutral professional) to protect surfaces at the studio.
