The Improved Polyclad Pro PU Meets Group 1-S

With six new colours, it was agreed that a subtle marbling effect would be designed into the product to minimise the colour split. New Polyclad Pro retains a polyurethane surface treatment and the benefits include protecting the product in handling and installation, as well as creating a surface that may be more easily cleaned/wiped down in use.

The most significant update to new Polyclad Pro PU is in relation to its fire performance, achieving EN 13501-1, B-s2-d0 as per the Single Burning Item Test (SBI) EN 13823.

The resulting B-s2-d0 classification for Polyclad Pro PU can be considered in terms of three aspects: heat, smoke and dripping. Heat release rate or flame spread features classes A to E, with the best level of classification being 'B' for PVC based material, with a very limited contribution to fire. With smoke production rate, s3 is the highest smoke emission while s2 is the medium and s1 the lowest. The occurrence of fire droplets or particles is observed visually during the first 600 seconds of the heat exposure on the specimen. The resulting d0 = no flaming droplets or particles within the first 600 seconds; d1 = no flaming droplets or particles persisting longer than 10 seconds with the first 600 seconds; d2 = ignition of item.

Polyclad Pro PU now joins the list for wallcoverings achieving B-s2-d0 classification and meantime, Polyclad Plus PU now achieves B-s3-d0.

NZBC Verification Method C/VM2 Appendix A establishes Group Numbers for lining materials. For the purposes of compliance with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) verification method, the following Group Number Classification is considered applicable to new Polyclad Pro PU — 1-S ie. the average specific extinction area was less than the 250m²/kg limit.

Developed specifically to meet the advanced requirements of today's medical, science and electronics industries. Polyclad Pro PU is suitable for use in cleanrooms, semi-conductor manufacture, precision machinery manufacture, the pharmaceuticals industry and food processing plants and those areas where hygiene is critical.
