Billi Water Unit Proves Perfect for Tight Kitchen Spaces

The advantages of using the Billi boiling and chilled, filtered water units in cupboards with very little space are once again crystal clear in this Wellington installation.

Merquip’s representative was asked to visit the site and look at the ability to fit a Billi unit in a kitchen with very limited cupboard space. In order to specify the most appropriate unit for this fitout, the cupboards dimensions were measured and staff numbers were taken into account.

It was noted that on some sides of the unit, there would have been a very minimal air gap available. This is not ideal if an air cooled unit is installed as the unit could possibly overheat and malfunction, due to inadequate ventilation. As the cupboard did not have the required air gap available around it, the best option was a water cooled unit. In the Billi range, both water and air cooled units are available.

The unit selected in this case was a Billi Quadra 460, recommended for up to 60 staff members. These Quadra units are excellent for tight spaces as they have no requirements for vent holes or air gaps in the cabinet carcass or door for cooling purposes.

The images show how this installation was achieved and brought home the benefits of water cooled, versus air cooled units in tight situations.

Versatility is only part of the advantages of a Billi unit, additional benefits include:

  • Gold Green Tag certified
  • Lifemark approved product
  • Concealed safety switch
  • Coloured dispenser levers with braille pads
  • Remote dispensers
