PrimaFlex Now Comes Pre-Primed for Soffit Lining

IBS PrimaFlex Fibre Cement Board is now available pre-primed as Prima Pre-Primed Soffit Lining. The board comes in come in sizes 2400mm by 1200mm, 600mm and 450mm wide, all 4.5mm thick and are suitable for all soffit lining applications.

The sheets come pre-primed on the front face and side edges which saves on cost and time required. Prima Pre-Primed Soffit Lining has all the great properties of a fibre cement board including being structurally strong as well as resistant to a variety of elements (fire, weather, decay, termite and rodent attacks and most chemicals).

Prima Pre-Primed Soffit Lining is non-combustible based on testing by CSIRO to AS 1530.1 standard. It is eminently suitable where non-combustible materials are required in accordance with C1.12 of the Building Code of Australia. It has also been tested in accordance with AS/NZS 3837 — a method of test for head and smoke release rates for materials and products using an oxygen consumption calorimeter at 50kW/m² and it has been classified as Group 1 material based on specification A2.4 and C1.10a of the Building Code of Australia.

The product has been BRANZ appraised and is autoclaved for superior durability and flexibility. This process cures the product, giving it outstanding dimensional stability.

IBS PRIMAflex is a cellulose fibre cement panel.

IBS supply PRIMAflex for use within the following scope:

Location:

In NZS3604:2011 wind zones up to and including extra high or 2.5kPa ULS.
In all corrosion zones.
Within 1m of a relevant boundary.

Building scope:

On new buildings that comply with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) or existing buildings where the designer and installer are satisfied that the existing building is suitable for the intended building work
On timber or light gauge steel-framed buildings
On buildings with a risk score of less than 20, calculated in accordance with E2/AS1, table 2
On vertical and horizontal, flat surfaces, except for the tops of balustrades and parapets, which must have a minimum 50 slope
With aluminium and wood window joinery that is installed with vertical jambs and horizontal heads and sills
On a deck structure that has adequate fall to shed water
On flat or raking ceilings and soffits
In conjunction with a suspended ceiling design
In conjunction with a fire rated wall or ceiling design

If designed, used, installed and maintained in accordance with the scope, this product will meet the following provisions of the NZBC:

B1 Structure: B1.3.1; B1.3.2; B1.3.3(a, h, j); B1.3.4
B2 Durability: B2.3.1(b); B2.3.2
C3 Fire affecting areas beyond the fire source: C3.7
E2 External Moisture: E2.3.2; E2.3.5
F2 Hazardous Building Materials: F2.3.1
