Hometech Solatube Dazzles Diners with Daylight

Imagine being able to bring daylight into dark corners, to illuminate each area of a project as desired, and to do this using sustainable design. By harvesting the appropriate level of daylight through its optical dome, Solatube Daylighting Systems can do just that for a range of applications.

The Solatube 750DS Daylighting System features 750 square inches of Effective Daylight Capturing Surface (EDCS) and is engineered to balance illumination intensity, consistency, and thermal performance. Alternatively, the Solatube 330DS Daylighting System has 330 square inches of EDCS and is designed to provide exceptional light levels at peak daylight hours.

Internationally, Solatube Daylighting Systems are being increasingly specified to enhance hospitality environments. The first Subway Eco–Store opened in 2007 in Florida and used Solatube Daylighting Systems throughout the restaurant. Using the Solatube 750DS Daylighting System, Mariano’s in Chicago and Mod Market Colorado are both examples where the application of the daylight has been introduced as a design feature, in addition to providing a light source.

For commercial projects both the 750DS Commercial Solatube Daylighting System and the 330DS Commercial Daylighting System come in open and closed ceiling applications.

BRANZ-appraised, the Solatube Daylighting System has a number of features that will bring ongoing benefits, including the capture and moulded domes and transfer zones.

The capture dome's Raybender 3000 technology captures and monitors a consistent level of light by redirecting low-angle sunlight and rejecting overpowering midday sun. Made from acrylic, the injection moulded dome is hardwearing and will not crack or craze with time. The transfer zone – the specular reflectivity of the Solatube Spectralight Infinity Tubing – can run lengths in excess of 15 metres without jeopardising effectiveness. At the delivery zone, diffuser options for both open and closed ceiling applications offer the choice of diffusing light evenly into every space. Furthermore, to provide even greater control the optional Solatube Daylight Dimmer allows users to completely adjust the daylight levels in a room by the flick of a switch.

HomeTech Solatube Daylighting Systems are backed by a 10-year product and installation warranty, giving assurance of quality and continued performance.
