The stadium - which will soon play host to a number of key matches in the upcoming Rugby World Cup - has recently undergone a major redevelopment, in anticipation for the world-class sporting event.
Jasmax Architects have played a key role in the redevelopment of Eden Park, with their design concept and colour scheme drawing significant inspiration from the stadiums' location.
Using colours from the Dulux Colours of New Zealand range, the interior features bold red, orange and organic green tones, which have been used to imitate lava flow as well as the colours found in Cabbage trees and Pohutakawa. These colours graduate from light to dark, reflecting the naturally occurring scale of land and sky. As well as providing visual interest to the space, this colour graduation also fulfils another purpose; helping to define the service and circulation routes, making navigation around the stadium easier.
