Barracuda Brick Slip System – Lightweight Brick Façades
Description

Brick façades are timeless, but in New Zealand, architects face challenges with traditional masonry: weight, seismic performance, and compliance.

The Building Agency is proud to bring the Barracuda Brick Slip System to New Zealand, offering a modern solution that delivers:

  • Authentic top-aligned brick finish with one-piece corner and reveal bricks
  • Compatible with virtually any brick type, such as frogged, perforated, handmade, or stock bricks
  • Push-fit rails with automatic levelling for fast, precise installation
  • Tested for wind, impact, pull-out, and durability with A1-rated non-combustible materials
  • Lightweight & compliant, reducing structural demands and project costs

From multi-storey residential to commercial and public buildings, Barracuda gives architects the freedom to design with brick aesthetics while meeting New Zealand performance standards.

Key Features
  • Authentic top-alignment: Unlike most slip systems that align the bottom of each brick-slip, Barracuda aligns the top surface, giving a finish indistinguishable from traditional brickwork.
  • Compatibility with any brick: Solid bricks, bricks with large frogs, bricks with core holes, even handmade stock bricks. Barracuda accommodates almost all types and sizes.
  • Push-fit, pre-gauged installation structure: The rail system supports fast, accurate installation without additional gauge rods or complex support templates.
  • Exceptionally robust performance: Tested for pull-out forces equivalent to wind loads up to 200 mph (even before mortar), full impact, and weather-resistance testing. Made from stainless steel and aluminium, non-combustible A1 rated.
  • Cost-efficient material usage: In many cases, the system can generate two slips from one parent brick, not only expanding aesthetic choice but also reducing material cost.
Scope of Use
  • Multi-storey residential towers and apartments
  • Commercial and mixed-use façades
  • Education, healthcare, and public sector buildings
  • Refurbishments and façade over-clads where structural weight or height limits apply
