Description

New Zealand Panels has extended its product range with the introduction of new high-gloss acrylic panels. Prime Acrylic is a high-end multi-use panel suitable for a range of cabinetry and building applications.

Prime Acrylic consists of extruded acrylic film glued and pressed either onto MDF MR/EO board or MDF standard board. Prime Acrylic is supplied double-sided and comes in a range of on-trend colours together with matching edging in standard PVC or laser option.

Scope of Use

Prime Acrylic is intended for use on doors and panels for interior cabinetry such as kitchens, bathrooms and furniture in high end residential applications. Prime Acrylic is also ideal for commercial applications such as office furniture or reception areas or wall panelling.

Limitations on Use

Prime Acrylic is not suitable for use in exterior applications or interior applications where ambient environmental moisture content is likely to be elevated for extended periods such as interior swimming pool, sauna or industrial wet areas.

Prime Acrylic should not be exposed to direct heat contact from such items as metal cookware. Prime Acrylic is not suitable for use as splashbacks or where it is exposed to heat greater than 70°C.

Statement of Building Code Compliance
  • Meets the durability requirements for interior linings of 5 years in accordance with B2 3.1 (c)
  • Standard MDF performance assessment is in accordance with NZBC Verification Method C/VM2 Appendix A - classification Group 3
Other Performance Attributes
  • Prime Acrylic on Moisture Resistant MDF is rated 'EO' and emits less formaldehyde than Natural Radiata Pine and incorporates formaldehyde-free adhesive, making it the ideal solution for interior applications working towards an environmental rating.
  • Promoting the use of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) controlled veneers, melamine and MDF boards.
  • Supplying Low Formaldehyde MDF board.
  • Reducing our manufacturing waste.
  • Control of manufacturing waste such as separating waste for recycling.
  • Reducing and developing new processes to minimise energy consumption. Our new purpose-built plant in East Tamaki features a number of initiatives that have significantly improved our environmental footprint, including a GreenStar 4 star rating for the buildings.
