SiTech+ Acoustic Drainage System
Description

Wavin SiTech+ is a mineral reinforced polypropylene (PP) soil and waste system offering increased robustness, low-noise properties and improved ease of installation. Its flexible connectivity and push-fit system makes SiTech+ a complete plug and play solution for wastewater discharge. Wavin SiTech+ is the ideal solution for installation in multi-storey building and those that are particularly sensitive to noise like apartment buildings, hotels, offices, hospitals, elderly homes, and libraries.

Wavin SiTech+ can be used for water discharge at temperatures up to 90°C, with peaks of to 95°C for short periods. It can also be used at low temperatures down to -20°C. This durability also makes it an ideal solution for extreme-temperature drainage areas such as kitchens, laundromats and industrial applications.

Pipe and Fittings Unique Features

  • Optimised 3-layer pipe structure with smooth inner surface for enhanced sound insulation properties as well as optimised flows
  • Eight pipe sizes (32, 40, 50, 75, 90, 110, 125 and 160mm) with a large selection of fittings and complementary sound insulating brackets to suit most types of buildings
  • Socketed connections and prefabricated elastomer gaskets (SBR) for fast, easy and secure installation
  • Portfolio includes specialised fittings for easier and more efficient installation and use particularly in areas where space is limited and includes swept branches, as compared to sharp angle fittings, allowing water to run smoothly while reducing overall noise levels, improving ventilation and increasing flow rates
  • 20% heavier fittings set a new standard in this market segment
  • Fittings have different markings at 15° and 45° intervals for easy alignment making it easier to align fittings which need to be positioned at rotated angles
  • Ribs on the spigots of the fittings checks complete insertion into the socket. These easily visible SiTech+ markings can also confirm the exact 10mm space needed to cope with thermal expansions at long pipe lengths
  • Pipes and fittings in black colour add to the durability and robustness of SiTech+. The black colour improves protection against UV radiation when stored outside at a building site
  • Approved fire collar solutions are available
  • SiTech+ can be used for both below and above ground applications
Scope of Use

SiTech+ is suited for most drainage applications in domestic, commercial and industrial buildings including multi-storey building that are particularly sensitive to noise such as apartment buildings, hotels, offices, hospitals, elderly homes and libraries as well as kitchens, laundromats and industrial applications with high temperature or low temperature wastewater discharge.

SiTech+ has been appraised and Watermark Certified for use in buildings in New Zealand within the following scope:

  • As pipes, fittings and materials for sanitary plumbing system design and installation in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution G13/AS3 and AS/NZS 3500.2; and
  • For use as a sanitary plumbing system for internal use within buildings; and
  • For pipes and fittings of size 32 mm and greater, for drainage system design and installation in accordance with NZBC Acceptable Solution G13/AS3 and AS/NZS 3500.2
Limitations on Use
  • SiTech+ is limited to water discharge at temperatures up to 90°C, with peaks of to 95°C for short periods
  • It is also limited to exposure at temperatures lower than -20°C
  • SiTech+ must be installed by licensed and registered plumbers and/or drainlayers
Statement of Building Code Compliance

SiTech+ when designed, installed, used and maintained in accordance with the statements and conditions of the SiTech+ Product Technical Guide (2021) will meet the following provisions of the NZBC:

  • Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1 [a] not less than 50 years, and B2.3.1 [b] 15 years, and B2.3.2
  • Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1
  • Clause G13 FOUL WATER: Performance G13.3.1 and G13.3.2.
Other Performance Attributes

Acoustic Performance

The acoustic performance of SiTech+ has been independently tested by The Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP according to EN1466.

Based on these test results:

  • SiTech+ exceeds the Rw + Ctr 40 requirement of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) in habitable areas, and
  • An unlagged SiTech+ system is comparable in sound performance to a fully lagged PVC system

Temperature and Chemical Resistance

  • SiTech+ can be used for water discharge at temperatures up to 90°C, with peaks of to 95°C for short periods
  • It can also be used at low temperatures down to -20°C
  • SiTech+ is chemically resistant to a wide range of chemical waste

Fire Resistance

Where penetrations through fire-rated ceilings and walls are required for the installation of SiTech+ pipe and/or fittings, suitable fire collars that will not reduce the fire rating of the affected building element must be installed. Such fire collars must be tested to comply with AS 1530.4.
