Description

Metro Series sliding windows use the sliding door system (updated in 2026 to support Specific Design and EM7 applications), but have smaller sliding panel rails, interlocker stiles and mullions.

Wide formats are possible with a maximum of six panels — two stacking towards one jamb and two stacking the other way.

For best overall performance, pair with The AGP System® with Solux-E® or Solux Ultra® low-e glass.

Key Features

Designed to work alongside Metro Series ThermalHeart+® with the ability to specify with total interchangeability between these two ranges
The sill frame has a flush track
Interlocker stiles and mullions are flush in the closed position
Corner sliders (90º) are available with no corner post (exterior and interior corners)
Ideal for non-projecting or servery windows
Wide opening is possible in bi-parting or stacking configurations

Scope of Use

Suitable for most applications where non-projecting windows are desired
Windows 2000mm high and 1500mm wide would conform in Extra High wind zones and exposure rating EM7
A good option for servery windows
Work well with insect screens

Limitations on Use

Consider the ease of reaching to the window catch if the sliding panel is placed beyond a bench
Some weather protection above e.g. wide eaves recommended to protect open windows

Statement of Building Code Compliance

Designed, tested and manufactured to meet NZS 4211: Performance of Windows, and NZS 4233: Glazing in Buildings, Parts 1-4
Designed and tested to conform to NZ Building Code, including Clause E2

In-Service History

Launched in 2006, updated in 2026 to support Specific Design and EM7 applications
Design upgrades regularly released
Widely used by homeowners, builders, Group home builders and specifiers

Other Performance Attributes

Window and door warranty provided under normal conditions of use against failure of materials and workmanship for a period of five years
Surface finish is covered by a separate performance warranty dependent on the actual finish selected
A hardware/componentry warranty is offered against defects in manufacturing, functionality and surface finish for a period of five years, provided care and maintenance guidelines have been followed.
