Metrotile is a privately owned New Zealand company. The Ross family, who own and work within the Metrotile business, commenced manufacturing concrete roof tiles over 70 years ago and metal roof tiles over 20 years ago.

In 2008, following the sale of their concrete tile business, the Ross family made a strategic decision to develop a robust New Zealand distributor customer base in support of their export-focused metal roof-tile business.

Metrotile utilises zincalume steel and acrylic coating technology to manufacture a comprehensive range of seven post-painted satin and textured metal roof-tile profiles that are lightweight and suitable for a range of extreme environments including marine areas, earthquake zones and high-wind locations. The tiles also cater for a diverse range of roofing applications, from high-end residential to light commercial projects.
