The ThermalCrete exterior panel system features interlocking panels that add extra security and stability during the construction period, and with a compressive strength of 5MPa, exceed NZBC requirements.

ThermalCrete's superior water-resistant substrate is achieved by the manufacturing process, where the sheets are bonded together.

Water Resistance

With water absorption capacity of only 3.2%, it excels over its counterpart in standard AAC* Panels that have a rating of 24 - 35% water absorption. ThermalCrete meets the NZ Building Code for Section E2 — External Moisture.

ThermalCrete has held a CodeMark Certificate since 2013 and complies with B1 Structure and B2 Durability of the NZ Building Code.

FLX Plaster System

Cracking in any plaster coating is not only unsightly — cracking in the cladding can allow water into the house and begin the process of expensive building damage.

With Masons FLX, users are wrapping their entire house with a flexible, durable, crack and water-resistant render, greatly reducing the chance of moisture damage to the building through the substrate.

FLX is manufactured in NZ for NZ conditions and it's a proven product that has been on the market for over 12 years.

FLX is a highly flexible waterproof acrylic plaster membrane, which is applied over substrates to provide a crack resistant coating.

The substrate may require you to apply levelling coat of plaster first (refer to Masons Data Sheets on the correct plaster for the substrate).
Apply Masons Plastaseal Sealer over the first coat of plaster, this will stop the suction between FLX bedding render and the first coat of plaster, hence giving you more working time with the product on the wall.
Apply 3-4mm of FLX over the surface with Masons Fibreglass Mesh embedded into the wet plaster. Overlap each successive length be 50mm minimum.
To opening reveals mesh over the PVC flashings. Apply diagonal reinforcing strips to the corners of windows, doors and exterior openings.
Cure and protect from rapid drying in accordance with Masons requirements.
Apply 2 coats of Masons Premium Build High Build Acrylic Paint over the textured finish (if pre-coloured texture has been used then only 1 coat of paint is required). Darker colours heat up in the sun and can cause problems with expansion and contraction of the surface and for this reason the paint colour is restricted to a depth of 25% LRV or more for guarantee purposes.
