KAPO Board Demonstrates Superb Moisture Resistance

KAPO Board is a calcium silicate board that offers a high-performance alternative to plaster-based and fibre cement wall linings. With less fibre content than standard fibre cement boards, it is a non-hazardous product that provides a host of benefits including resistance to fire, moisture and mould.

A key benefit of KAPO Board is its moisture resistance, which makes it ideal as an interior wet area lining for kitchens, laundries and bathrooms. Extensive testing has been undertaken to ensure the board will perform in the toughest wet area conditions.

Results from BEAL testing demonstrate that the board will not disintegrate when immersed in water or exposed to freeze-thaw cycles for prolonged periods of time. Testing also shows no deformation under sustained damp conditions, making KAPO Board perfectly suited for tropical climates and other humid environments.

Exclusively supplied in New Zealand by Enviro Square, KAPO board is suitable for a range of interior applications. The versatility of KAPO board means it can be used as a ceiling and wall lining throughout all areas of a project, effectively simplifying construction processes and eliminating waste.

Recent projects in Queenstown and Auckland have seen KAPO Board’s resilience and flexibility put to the test as a bathroom wall lining, a lining above a fireplace and as a ceiling lining in a unique grooved application.
