Need to Turn Your Plan into a Detailed Specification? Blum Team Can Help

So, you’ve decided on a drawer system but would like some guidance on the size options. Perhaps you have a client who’s wavering between two products, and you need to settle on the best solution. Or maybe you’d simply like some expert assistance with a detailed specification for the joiner to work from.

The assistance you need is just a phone call or email away. Blum has a team of specialist consultants available at no cost. They’re here to save you time and money and help you select the right Blum product for the job.

Brittany Smith looks after designers and architects from Christchurch South. Assisting clients from the top half of the South Island and the lower North Island is Kate Ward. And for the rest of the North Island, Tania Bailey is the person to call.

Together they have decades of professional experience in design and joinery as well as detailed knowledge of Blum’s extensive product range.

The team sum up the service they provide:

“We’re here to help with all the details when architects and designers specify our hardware and to help them get the terminology correct. We keep them updated with new products, support them with specifying joinery plans, and help them choose the range that is best suited for their projects.”

Tania says that most designers and architects have a good idea of what they want but they might not be across all the details (and may be under some time pressure as well). That’s where she can help.

“I can work out the drawers’ sides and heights based on their plans and provide ordering codes for organisational accessories if they need them. The specifiers want to put the right product codes and the correct language on a plan so when it comes to production, they can be sure it’s actually going to be built that way.”

Making sure designers and architects are informed about new ranges is another key task. “We’re here to keep them up to date with things like colour changes and new products, and also things that aren't available,” Kate says.

Anything else they’d like designers to know?

Tania: “That they're free to call me at any time. And that is probably the most straightforward way to get information when they actually need it.”

Brittany: “Visit the Blum showrooms and bring your clients too. The homeowners usually don’t realise they want that extra organisation in their pantry or tupperware drawers, so our showrooms become an invaluable resource for understanding our products and how to use them in the joinery designs.”

Kate: “We’re an approachable team with a lot of useful information along with the Blum studies. We’re across everything that Blum does, and our experience in the industry means we can offer so much more than just advising on hardware.”
