UltraTherm Xtreme – FiberTite Membrane Warm Roof
Description

Rooflogic Ultratherm Xtreme is a commercial membrane roofing solution that provides superior thermal and acoustic performance and extreme durability with the use of Rooflogic's Fibertite KEE membrane and Derbigum modified bitumen membrane.

Every component within the Ultratherm Xtreme system has been engineered to provide the highest levels of performance. RL Base Deck is the only steel base deck that is tested in New Zealand for wind uplift, point load and fastener pull-out resistance.

RL PIR Board provides exceptional thermal performance right down to the elimination of thermal bridging through its tongue and groove construction.  It also offers improved impact resistance due to a compressive strength of 250kPa, twice that of most other PIR product in the New Zealand market.

When enhanced impact resistance/trafficability and acoustics is required Rooflogic specify a range of high density roof boards to meet project demands.

  • FiberTite Membrane: allows for more robust detailing, including roof/gutter transitions and penetrations
  • Thermal Performance: RoofLogic PIR insulation provides the highest levels of insulation relative to thickness. Thermal breaks are eliminated and thermal performance is maintained over the life of the roof assembly

  • Design Flexibility: Thermal values and acoustic ratings can be varied according to project-specific requirement. Utilising FiberTite laminated metal and FiberTite standing seam profiles allows for flexible detailing solutions and improved aesthetics
Scope of Use
  • Install the Ultratherm Xtreme system over Rooflogic's engineered structural base deck or standard plywood and concrete substrates
  • The RoofLogic Base Deck can be installed at lengths to suit the purlin lay-out and site conditions. Fast installation of Base Deck provides a dry working environment below and safe working environment above
Statement of Building Code Compliance

In the opinion of BRANZ, FiberTite Roofing Systems, if designed, used, installed and maintained in accordance with the statements and conditions of the Appraisal (no. 884 [2015]), will meet the following provisions of the NZBC:

  • Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1 (b), 15 years. FiberTite Roofing Systems meet this requirement. See Paragraph 10.1.
  • Clause E2 EXTERNAL MOISTURE: Performance E2.3.1 and E2.3.2. FiberTite Roofing Systems meet these requirements. See Paragraphs 13.1 - 13.9.
  • Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1. FiberTite Roofing Systems meet this requirement and will not present a health hazard to people.

This is an Appraisal of an Alternative Solution in terms of New Zealand Building Code compliance. The membranes are an alternative to the membranes specified in NZBC Acceptable Solution E2/AS1, and an Alternative Solution subject to specific design for other buildings not covered within NZBC E2/AS1. Other Performance Attributes

Durability: The inclusion of RoofLogic Roof Board makes the UltraTherm Xtreme — FiberTite system highly resistant to impact. PIR insulation board has a relatively low compressive strength (approx. 20 psi) and is easily damaged which in turn compromises the long-term integrity of the roofing membrane and the thermal performance of the system.

Roof Board has the highest compressive strength of any roof board (1800 psi), ensuring resistance to environmental impact and repeated foot traffic. This is critical to long-term waterproofing and thermal performance.
