Description

Sliding windows use the sliding door frame and panels move on an outside track. They can meet at 90° corners without the need for a corner post.

Most configurations include a fixed side panel. However, a bypass slider option is available where two or more panels are configured to open from opposing ends.

For best overall performance, pair with The AGP System® with Solux-E® or Solux Ultra® low-e glass.

Key Features

Designed for suitability for Extra High wind zones and Specific Design applications
APL Architectural Series sliding windows use the sliding door frame but generally have smaller interlocker stiles, mullions and bi-parting meeting stiles
The sill frame has both sloped and flush track options
The sloped sill option has a smaller top and bottom rail
Interlocker stiles and mullions are flush in the closed position
Ideal for non-projecting or servery windows

Scope of Use

Suitable for most applications where non-projecting windows are desired
Need to be used in defined maximum sizes according to the wind exposure
Designed for suitability for Extra High wind zones and Specific Design applications

Limitations on Use

Consider the ease of reaching to the window catch if the sliding panel is placed beyond a bench
Some weather protection above e.g. wide eaves recommended to protect open windows

Statement of Building Code Compliance

Designed, tested and manufactured to meet NZS 4211: Performance of Windows, and NZS 4233: Glazing in Buildings, Parts 1-4
Designed and tested to conform to NZ Building Code, including Clause E2

Launched in 2004
Design upgrades regularly released
Widely used by homeowners, builders and specifiers

Other Performance Attributes

Window and door warranty provided under normal conditions of use against failure of materials and workmanship for a period of five years
Surface finish is covered by a separate performance warranty dependent on the actual finish selected
A hardware/componentry warranty is offered against defects in manufacturing, functionality and surface finish for a period of five years, provided care and maintenance guidelines have been followed
