The 7220 features a low battery alarm as well as a tamper alarm that goes off if anyone attempts to damage the lock or force the door open. Other security features include a scramble code and 4 digit one-time user code for guests.

Access by PIN code, fingerprint verification, key tag, and has a traditional key override. Optional access via the *Yale Home app for smartphone when upgraded with the YDM Yale Home Kit. When upgraded the 7220 works with Smart Home automation such as Google Home, Apple Homekit, and Amazon Alexa.
