Peace of Mind Flooring with Hygienic Neptune SPC

By now most people in the NZ design and build industry have heard of Neptune Stone Polymer Composite (SPC) flooring — a hybrid stone core, floating floor that is exceptionally durable, 100% waterproof and can be laid over most existing subfloors. It is an amazingly versatile and affordable product which has really broadened the range of options on the market for that wooden floorboard effect without the accompanying price tag and associated maintenance issues.

What is less known about Neptune Flooring is that it has a built-in SE+ antimicrobial surface that has been specifically developed to consistently protect the floor covering against harmful bacteria.

How does it work?

SE+ disrupts the bacteria’s metabolism which in turn inhibits its survival and ability to reproduce. In practical terms, it reduces the formation of biofilm and mildew and protects from bacterial attacks that have the potential to harm human health.

99% of bacteria are eliminated by the SE+, and while cleaning procedures such as washing detergents and hot water can kill most bacteria, they don’t protect against residual contamination. The additional presence of an SE+ surface gives greater protection against potentially harmful bacteria, and is perfect for flooring installed in kitchens and bathrooms where the development of bacteria is the fastest and the need for hygiene most important.

Neptune SPC flooring is truly an innovative product and an ideal surface for families with young children that spend a lot of time on the floor. For peace of mind flooring that not only looks and feels great, has fabulous sound absorption qualities, is 100% waterproof and is 100% free of harmful plasticisers, in addition to having anti-bacterial properties; Neptune SPC flooring is an ideal choice.
